Philosophy

I believe that it is essential to take time to collaborate with my clients for their individual needs. I tend to encourage clients to work with what their hair responds to naturally, but also appreciate forming hair into edgier or precision cuts & colour.

Along the Way...

Moons ago, I went to hair school at VCC and received my hairdresser/cosmetologist certification. I then apprenticed for 3 years and have been a stylist since.

My additional training includes advanced coursework at Suki's and at Vidal Sassoon in London. I have the Wella master colourist certification, and have completed the Aveda teacher-training program. This was followed by teaching students at Aveda.

Most notably, I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful and talented stylists over the years who have taught me so much, and have provided me with continual support and inspiration.

How it's done

The process is pretty simple: first we discuss what you'd like to have (or not have) done to your hair.  I then adapt your/our hairstyle ideas to work with your personal characteristics and hair needs. I'm find that sometimes hair language can be a bit convoluted. I work well visually, so feel free to bring in any images, or drawings etc.

A little aside

In 2019, I graduated with a BFA from the Visual Arts program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. I'm often working on projects in the studio (or in my living room, or outside, or...) when not doing hair.

Contact me

If you'd like to get in contact with me, please send me an email or feel free to text/call me. It helps to suggest a few appointment days/times that work best for you and what you are thinking you would like to have done. Currently my work days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
